ACCESS

Accessibility stopped being optional under European law. We get your site ready, without patchwork.

Direct answer

Making your website accessible means meeting WCAG 2.2 AA, the standard behind the European Accessibility Act that applies to new products and services since 28 June 2025. Empireyo audits your site, fixes the issues at the source and keeps them fixed. We do not use overlay plugins: they do not solve the problem.

The law

What applies since 28 June 2025.

The European Accessibility Act obliges a growing group of businesses to make digital services accessible, with WCAG 2.2 AA as the yardstick. Webshops and consumer-facing services come first, and the scope keeps widening towards 2030.

Accessibility is more than an obligation, though. A site that works for everyone works better for all your visitors, and search engines and AI assistants read semantically clean pages better too.

What the law demands exactly is in our article on the Accessibility Act.

Our approach

At the source, not on top.

Overlay plugins that promise accessibility with one line of code mask problems instead of solving them. The real issues live in the source: structure, contrast, forms, keyboard control.

That is where we work. First an audit that names every issue with the matching WCAG rule, then fixes in design and code, then safeguards so new content stays accessible.

You receive a report you can show to regulators and clients. Demonstrably in order.

Frequently asked

Good to know.

Does the Accessibility Act apply to my business?+
If you sell products or services to consumers online, most likely yes. The audit settles it precisely, so you know where you stand.
What is WCAG 2.2 AA exactly?+
The international guideline for digital accessibility, level AA. Think sufficient contrast, keyboard control, understandable forms and proper alternative texts.
Is an accessibility plugin not enough?+
No. Overlays mask issues rather than fix them and do not hold up legally. Real accessibility lives in the source of your site.
