Short answer

Website maintenance is keeping a site up to date after it goes live: updates, security, monitoring, back-ups and improvements. Empireyo does this for businesses across the Netherlands, since 2014, including sites we did not build ourselves. A plan usually starts from € 120 per month and you cancel it monthly. Every month you get a short message in plain language about what was done, what we saw and what is still open.

Sound familiar?

Four things that often come up.

Almost every first conversation starts with one of these four.

01

The site has stood still since it was delivered

It went live and after that nothing happened. The prices are old and the last news item is from two years ago.

What we do

Every month something happens to your site: updates, a check and improvement work as far as your plan covers it. At the end of the month you read what that was.

02

Updates are put off until something breaks

Someone has to do them, and that someone is busy. So it keeps waiting until the site goes down one day.

What we do

Updates and security run in a steady monthly rhythm, and we keep an eye on the site in between. Big updates we announce beforehand.

03

The person who built it back then no longer responds

You no longer know who manages your site, where it is hosted or who has the login details.

What we do

You call one number and get the person who does the work. Your site does not have to be built by us: after a technical check we take it over.

04

You do not know what happens to your site

Money goes out every month, and what happens in return stays unclear.

What we do

Every month a short message in plain language: what was done, what we saw and what is still open. Also in a month when nothing went wrong.

Built for Atiq Tandartsen, Smartphone Store Dokkum & Taxi Sittard among others. All seventeen clients are listed on about us.

What you get

What happens every month.

Eight parts, from monitoring to improvements. What is included we agree beforehand.

01

An eye on the site

We keep track of whether your site is up and whether anything goes wrong. If we see something, we pick it up without you having to call first.

02

Updates and security

Everything running under your site is kept up to date, in a steady rhythm, also in months when nothing is broken. Big updates we announce beforehand.

03

Back-ups that can be restored

There is a copy of your site ready every day. If something goes wrong, we put it back. A back-up you cannot restore is not a back-up.

04

Speed and technology checked

Periodically we look at how fast your site loads and whether anything is creeping in technically: broken links, images that are too heavy, error messages no visitor sees. Small things we fix straight away.

05

An eye on your visibility

Whether search engines can read your site properly and whether nothing drops away after a change. If something slips, it is in the monthly message. Nobody can promise a position.

06

Improvements, not only keeping up

In a steady rhythm we also pick up what can be better: a page that runs stiffly, a form that can be shorter. Anything outside the plan you hear about beforehand, with a price.

07

What we agree is on paper

What we do, how often, and how quickly we respond when something is broken, matched to how important your site is for your business. You cancel monthly.

08

Also a site we did not build

We start with a technical check: what is running, what has been left undone, and what we can promise. Only after that do we say what it costs per month.

A site that keeps up. Updates and security keep running, also in months when you are not thinking about it.

A way back. There is a copy ready every day, so a mistake can be undone.

A view of your site. At the end of every month you know what was done and what is still open.

Our approach

Four steps, from check to monthly rhythm.

First a technical check, then taking it over, and after that a short message every month. You cancel per month.

01

Check and agreements

We look at what is running: which system, which components, what has been left undone and where the risks are. After that we record what happens each month and what it costs.

You get: An overview of the state of your site and the agreements on paper · within a few days

02

Connecting and taking over

We get access to the site, hosting and domain, and switch on monitoring and back-ups. Updates that have been left undone we catch up on; if that backlog is large, you hear beforehand what that costs as a one-off.

You get: A site that is monitored, up to date and has a back-up · the first month

03

A message every month

At the end of every month a short message: what was done, what we saw and what is still open. Short enough to actually read, also in a month when nothing went wrong.

You get: A short monthly message in plain language · every month

04

Improving in a steady rhythm

Besides keeping things up to date we pick up improvements: a page that could run better, technology that needs tidying up. What is next in line we discuss beforehand.

You get: Improvements in a steady rhythm, discussed first every time · ongoing

Work that runs every day

Three sites we built and keep up to date.

For all three we built the site and the management carries on after it went live.

Atiq Tandartsen

Healthcare · Zwolle

A practice website with online registration for new patients and a separate, playful entrance for paediatric dentistry. We built the site and also do the maintenance.

Smartphone Store Dokkum

Telecom · Dokkum

A service and booking portal where customers reserve a time slot online for repair of their phone, tablet or smartwatch. We built the portal and also do the maintenance.

Taxi Sittard

Transport · Sittard

A quotation and booking platform where travellers work out fares for South Limburg, airport transfers and group transport. We built the platform and also do the maintenance.

Investment

What it costs per month.

A plan usually starts from € 120 per month. What it becomes for you depends on these six things.

Fixed monthly fee
from € 120per month
Cancellable monthlyno annual contract, and that is on paper
Also a site from another agencyafter a technical check we take it over
The keys stay yourslogin details, domain, design and code in your name

The size of the site

Keeping five pages up to date is less work than a webshop with hundreds of products.

The technology underneath

Which system is running and how many components hang in it. Catching up on a backlog is one-off work.

How often content is added

A site that changes four times a year asks less than one where something has to go up every week.

Whether ongoing development is included

Only keeping things up to date is the lightest plan. Improving every month as well is something we agree beforehand.

Links with other systems

A payment system or a booking calendar attached to your site is something extra to check each time.

Multiple languages

Every language is its own set of pages; checking and updating happens per language.
Why Empireyo

Why people stay here.

You are not tied to anything: you cancel per month, and what is yours stays yours. People who stay, stay because the work gets done.

01

One point of contact

You call one number and get the person who does the work. No ticket number, also if your site was built somewhere else years ago.

02

Someone who knows the subject for every part

Behind that number are five senior specialists. With maintenance it comes down to build and growth: the technology under your site and your visibility.

03

The keys stay yours

Login details, domain, design and code are in your name, also in the months when we do the management.

04

Since 2014

Seventeen organisations across the country work with work made here. For some of them the management carries on after the site went live.

Honest is honest: what we do not do

No annual contract

The plan runs per month and you cancel it per month. People who stay, stay because the work gets done.

No plan if there is nothing to maintain

For a small site that rarely changes a monthly amount is sometimes money thrown away. Then we do the work separately on request.

No twelve-page report

The monthly message fits on half a page of A4. No charts and no scores nobody can check.

Nothing held back when you leave

If you stop, you take the login details, the latest back-up and the current version of your site with you.

Frequently asked

Good to know.

What does maintenance cost with you?+
A plan usually starts from € 120 per month. After the technical check the monthly amount is fixed. It goes up mainly through the size of the site, how often content is added, links with other systems and whether ongoing development is included.
How quickly can it start?+
We do the check within a few days. In the first month we take the site over: monitoring on, back-ups on, and overdue updates caught up. If that backlog is large, you hear beforehand what that costs as a one-off.
Who writes the texts?+
If you supply a text, we put it on. If you want us to write it, we say beforehand whether that fits in the plan or comes on top.
Who owns my site during the plan?+
You do. Design, code, domain and login details are in your name, also in the months when we do the management.
Can I change things myself?+
Yes. Texts, a photo or a news item you do yourself. If the change is in the structure, we do it. If you are unsure, one phone call tells you.
How much time does this cost me?+
One conversation and supplying the access. After that you read a short message every month and now and then say when a big update can go ahead.
Can I cancel monthly, and what if I do not want a plan?+
Yes, the plan runs per month. When you leave you take the login details and the latest back-up with you. If you do not want a plan, you can always call us and we do separate work on request; it is never a condition.
Do you also maintain sites you did not build?+
Yes, after a technical check. We first map what is running, what has been left undone and where the risks are. Only after that do we say what we can promise and what it costs.
How quickly do you respond when something is broken, and what if an update breaks something?+
What we agree about that we record before we start; urgent disruptions always take priority. If an update breaks something, we restore that day's copy and then find out where it went wrong.
Is hosting included in the maintenance?+
Those are two things: maintenance is the work on your site, hosting is the place where it sits. We can arrange hosting and domain with fixed partners; what that costs is listed separately in the proposal. If you stay with your current provider, we work on that.
What if I want more than keeping things up to date?+
Small improvements are part of the rhythm. A new feature, a link with another system or a members-only area is web development, from € 1000, and we discuss it beforehand.
